Watching your favorite TV show in the evening is a great way to chill out. So here are 3 TV shows that I have been watching lately.
When a foreign student came to stay with my parents when I was younger, they were surprise to see how everything in the home is centered round the TV set. This foreign student said in her home country, the home is centered round a fireplace or the furniture would be arranged so everyone can talk to each other.
This comments have always stayed with me and when I do look at loads of different interior design from outside the UK, it is true. The home is very much centered round a fireplace or the furniture are arranged to make it a family place.
I think that nice, and why am I bringing it up? Well my parents are TV addict. Every single conversation is based around the TV. Since retiring they now spend their entire day watching TV. Morning to night. I tried to get them do other things – ok so my dad sometime does golf during the day – but really all they want to do is sit in front of the TV box set.
I made a vow not to be like that, to have my life so centered round a moving picture box. I’m sure I said this before – I don’t really want terrestrial TV. I just find it boring and you’re forever flicking through channels trying to see what is on.
That why I love services like Netflix and Amazon Prime. On demand service when you want it. The TV shows you want to watch.
I’ll admit once I find something that I like to watch, I will properly go made for it. I will binge watch it to death. So without further ado, here are the 3 TV shows that I have been watching lately.
My parents have been telling me to watch Mad men since it first aired. I have to admit I find the culture of the 1960s to be fascinating and I think that what made started to watch this. This series has been criticism acclaimed and won loads of TV awards and my god it deserves it all. I love the characters (especially Peggy and Joan), the attention to details, the storyline. I love how they made everything authentically 1960s, like you really watching a 1960s time capsule. It so addicted to watch and once you start – you can’t stop. The storyline has a lovely flow and you really feel for everyone. I recommend people to watch this as you won’t be disappointed.
Now onto something completely different. This is written by Charlie Brooker, a UK technology journalist and broadcaster. Black Mirror is dystopian view on our everyday technology, like our phones, computer and anything that has a black mirror surface. Every episode is a standalone and has separate storyline. It thought provoking and it does make you think. It also does have dark humor throughout every storyline. It interesting to watch and it’s also fun to read the reddit board after watching a single episode.
Onto Amazon Prime:
I have been dyyyying to watch this for ages. So when it came on Amazon Prime I brought the whole box set. I heard so many people talk about this – so I was interested to see what all the fuss was about. Plus, let be honest – it does have the very lovely David Tennant. It’s a crime detective show and it based around a murder of a young boy. Even though the show is on season 3, I’m stuck on season 1 so please don’t spoil it for me. However, I do find it a slow burner and it isn’t exactly gripping. But I’m still keen to watch this and see the final conclusion. For any UK viewers, please do buy the box set and watch this – especially if you love crime story.
And those were my 3 TV shows that I have been watching lately. Do tell me what you been watching lately.
