I’m a self-proclaimed movie-addict, I love going to the cinema and I love seeing what new film will be available in the following year.  But there has been time where the trailer been better than the film.

You get yourself all comfy, got a nice big box of popcorn. You have seen the trailer and decided this is the film you are going to see and it will brilliant. However, 2 or 3 hours later and you walk out of the cinema thinking to yourself ‘’what the hell was that?’’

Don’t you just hate when that happen.  Seriously there are time when the trailer made the actual film so much better. I have often walked out the cinema thinking to myself, what a waste of time.

So here are 4 time when a trailer has been better than the film:

Zoolander 2:

I thought the first Zoolander film was hilarious, slick, cool and a lot of fun! Let’s be honest, who here tried to copied the blue steel look? I saw the first film many time and it’s a firm favorite of mine. So when I heard Zoolander 2 was in production – I was mega excited. When the trailer to Zoolander 2 came out and once again I thought they capture the slick, cool fun of the first film. Nahh they didn’t. I dragged Richard to the cinema to see this and my god It was bad. I felt they put all the good stuff within the trailer and the overall film didn’t flow well. It was all over the place and so cringe-worthy. I walked out of the cinema feeling disappointed on what they have done. This Is the first instant where the trailer made the film better than it was.

Absolutely Fabulous the Movie:

I love Ab-Fab. I spent one weekend last year binge watching the Ab-Fab sitcom. I thought the character was brilliant and a lot of fun. So when I heard they are making a movie – I wanted to be first in line. The trailer got released and it looked a lot of fun. I begged Richard to take me to the cinema to see this but he put his foot down and said no. So I had to wait for it come on-demand. But now I’ve seen the film – I’m so glad Richard put his foot down and said no. As once again another film that was all over the place and didn’t flow well. It had odd moment when it wasn’t necessary and made the film all over the place. I also didn’t find it funny and the plot was thin on the ground. Stick with the old sitcom if I was you.

Bridget Jones’s Baby:

I enjoyed the first two film and I thought Renée Zellweger was the perfect casting. I wasn’t that excited to see a third film. But Helen fielding (the original author of Bridget Jones’s Diary) was at the time serializing the third book on her newspaper column so I was keen to see how it would translate into film.  The trailer looks a lot of fun and seem to capture a lot of the magic with the last two film. However, once I saw the film, I felt it tried too hard to be a chick-flick as the humor part wasn’t that funny! I actually got bored watching this and as I rented this from my on-demand service I skipped part. The main plot was predictable (not going to reveal any spoiler) and kind of boring. When I told someone my verdict of the film – well if only look could kill. Another thing that bugged me was the soundtrack – the music was all over the place. Watch this if you like silly nonsense no-brain chick flick – better yet just watch the trailer.

Blue Crush:

I didn’t see this film – Richard did. It a film with girls in bikini on a beach surfing. What more does a boy need! I’ve seen the trailer and it look interesting – but not my thing. Richard verdict of the film was – it was bad! He felt there wasn’t much surfing (the whole point of the film) and no enough plot story to keep it going. Richard said it better to go surfing yourself than watch this film.

So that my short list. Do you have any to add? Feel free to say in the comment below.
