We recently had the opportunity to rent an office space for our business. So this meant I could finally be designing an office for Nuttall Media.
Yes, a couple weeks ago it was all very exciting. Mr Tom (not real name obviously) who work with my husband, started talking about opening a private office space to work in. And he asked if we (Richard and I) would like to get in.
Well, I jumped at the chance of it. Richard wasn’t so sure. But for me, I could see the opportunity to expand our little home-grown business. I did talk Richard round to it. Eventually.
I also could see the opportunity to finally have our own photography studio, something I have been going on about forever. I mean imagine going to work and doing a photo shoot whenever you wanted.
As anything with me, I’m already getting ahead of myself and already designing the perfect office in my head. I have even started a secret Pinterest board in my designing plan.
I even started to look at various commercial flooring, I don’t want any old dirty flooring in my nice sparkly clean office. I want a nice shiny laminated flooring, something where you can hear the clicking of my heels as I walk in.
I would also love a big monitor with a big black boss chair, air-conditioned and a place to step away from the desk.
Mr Tom and I started to look for premises. But there a problem. He drives – we don’t. He would want a place near his home – while we live the other side of London. It would mean I would have to commute to my office every-day, something which I must confess I hate.
So there a tug of war on that front at the moment and it looks like neither of us is budging. There also another problem. There would be a time where we wouldn’t need to use the office as we often have to go out to conduct business. There could be a period of time where the office would be empty and do we really want to pay for an empty office?
While I am excited at the prospect, I can also see quite clearly the pro-and-cons. It would mean it be a premise I would have to pay for. Not on my own – but jointly. But do I even have the funds to even considering owning an office?
As always I like to keep my readers, you guys up to speed on what is happening in ‘Anna Nuttall’ world. So do you think I should go ahead and create an office for Nuttall Media?
