When I was invited to have afternoon tea at the Millennium Hotel Mayfair London, how could I turn it down! Not only that but as a special treat as it was mother day I invited my mum along. There was a group of us who also took their mum with them so it was nice to mingle with other people and the mum’s could have chin-wag. The event started with the management of the hotel giving us a tour of the suites and the ballroom, all available for hire.
Next we finally settled down to have afternoon tea, which I was glad as I sooo hungry at that point. The tea conceit of 3 tier stand filled with sandwiches, scones and various cakes, beautiful printed tea-set.
The sandwiches I wasn’t too keen on but then again I’m not a big sandwich eater, however the scones and cakes was delicious, the scones were freshly-made (the head cook came out to greet us and told us) so it was still moist and warm; it was lovely spreading jam and lemon curd on them and seeing it melt into the scone. The whole afternoon tea was complimentary which was also lovely.
My overall verdict was that, if you have a free afternoon and it your mum or someone birthday or as a special treat then head over to the hotel for afternoon tea as you won’t be disappointed, it’s a relaxing environments to unwind in the center of London which is a rare thing! Plus it cheaper then the ritz which is an added bonus.
A big thank you to Greenlight Digital for the invite.
