For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to live the bohemian dream. Be free and wild. Now I’m in my 30s, I decided it time to finally live that dream through my fashion. Here is my bohemian Free People wish list.

From being a little girl growing up I would put flowers in my hair (much to the dismay of my poor mum who would then spend hours untangling my hair!), reads up on anything to do with hippie culture while at school, be naturally be drawn to gypsy fashion and have the odd dreams where I’m travelling in a caravan.

Basically what I’m saying is, I see myself a free bohemian spirit, always have – always will be. I am that girl who would wear flowers crown, be a self-proclaimed hippie, have gipsy style fashion in her wardrobe, and happily travel around in a caravan.

Then I’m sure you ask yourself – why aren’t you all those things? Simply because I have been pushed into a direction that conforms to society exaptation. I’m married, got a mortgage, have a credit card and somehow saving up for a pension.

I’m not complaining, I’m just feeling like my free spirit nature have been pushed out of the way, to make room to how you supposed to be in this society.

Everyone around me thinks this is just a phrase I’m going through and I will grow out of it. But It has been that way over 30 years now and I still haven’t grown out of it.

Now I’m older and allowed to make my own decision and generally can be the person I want to be, I now want that bohemian dream, where I can be wild and free to be a reality.

Ok so I do have all these grown-up responsibilities and no longer can really go travelling in a caravan (don’t think my husband would be up for it!), it doesn’t mean I can’t reflect it in another way – especially in something like my fashion choice.

This is why recently I have been obsessing over Free People. It a store after my own heart. I feel the people looked into my dream and designs clothes that I just love.

The additional fact that they specialize in bohemian fashion – well that just the icing on the cake as far as I’m concerned. This is what I’ve been talking about. Wanting to be wild and free.

It shouldn’t be surprised I came up with my bohemian Free People wish list. Have a look and let me know if you agree with my choices.

So are you with me this year and being more wild and free and living the bohemian dream?
