I was invited this weekend to Cosmopolitan Self-Made Summit 2018, an event that helps people networks and to learn new skills.
I was very kindly invited to attend their Cosmopolitan Self-Made Summit 2018. Now, this is my first time at such event, I really wasn’t sure on what to expect. But there one thing I did expect – good catering.
You see, as I said in the past. I’m not very good at an event as I’m such a shy person and I tend to be the loner who sits in a corner of the room twiddling her thumb.
But there one thing I do like – food. Or at least good catering. When I’m somewhere and don’t know what to do with myself, I just tend to hover around the catering and just nervously eat whatever is on offer.
So yes, if you’re somewhere and you see this small jelly bean girl nervously just hovering around the catering stand – don’t worry she won’t eat it all and she just being a little shy.
As you can see from the photos I was very keen on the catering. That another thing I tend to do – not just hover around the catering stuffing my face, I also tend to take photos of what I’d eat.
Anyway, I’m waffling on about the catering – that wasn’t why I was there. Let me tell you about Cosmopolitan Self-Made Summit 2018.
It a two days’ summit, sponsored by Very and it filled with celebrities’ talks, speed networking, and interactive workshops. All aimed for you to reach that #careergoals. As well as all that, they also a chance to have a makeover from the team at Givenchy, get your nails done and also to have a Cosmo photo shoot.
So as you can see it was a packed event. I only went to the one on a Sunday and I felt like I learn a lot. My workshop sessions were about travel blogging (obviously) where I got to meet Mollie from Where’s Mollie.
I also went to a keynote speech from Caroline Flack (she’s a reality TV presenter – I have to confess I had to Google who she was as I don’t watch any reality TV!).
It was an all-day event, but I only stayed until the afternoon keynote and then went home.
Hopefully, the team at Cosmopolitan will put it on again next year, which I will happily go to.
Thank you for the invite and hopefully next year I won’t just be thinking about the catering.
