If I told you I went to a gin & tonic bakery last week, you would think I’m crazy. Well, folks, I’m crazy as I did indeed go to a Fentimans Gin Bakery.

Yup, it as the name suggest it – a bakery filled with gin & tonic cakes and drinks. Not something you see every day. Its full name is Fentimans Gin Bakery, and it was a pop-up bakery that opened over the weekend at around Notting Hill. I went along to the UK’s first gin & tonic bakery to try out it for myself.

A little bit information so you can understand the Fentimans Gin Bakery:

The Fentimans Gin Bakery took over an already existing bakery, Pearl & Groove Bakery for two days. To mark this gin and tonic bakery launch, GBBO star Sophie Faldo was there to oversee it all.

This gin and tonic bakery, as you might expect has gin & tonic themed cake while of course having Fentimans gin and tonic to wash it down.

Now I’m always talking about how much of a chocolate fiend I am, well it has come to my attention that I’m a cake fiend as well. I never realise how much of a ‘cake’ fiend I was, until I was looking at my Instagram feed and saw quite a few cakes photos.

So yes, I’m a cake fiend. So being this cake eating crazy girl – I wasn’t exactly going to turn down a chance to try out a Fentimans Gin Bakery.

I opted for a lavender filled cake and washed it down with gin & pink lemonade. I couldn’t taste the gin in the cake, but the gin & pink lemonade was refreshing. I made a mental note to try out this drink at home.

The Fentimans Gin Bakery was only a weekend event. You still can visit Pearl & Groove bakery to try out their delicious cakes, and also sit in their lovely rosy café. I made a mental note to come back next time I’m around Notting Hill.

Don’t be disappointed if you missed out on the Fentimans Gin Bakery. As you can make your own gin and tonic cakes at home.

Fentimans has developed a series of G&T baking recipes that feature their range of botanically brewed mixers. The recipes feature creations such as gin and Pink Grapefruit Tonic cheesecake, gin and Sparkling Elderflower cupcakes and gin and Botanical Tonic bundt cake.

Fentimans are encouraging the public to get involved in the gin baking fun by simply sharing photos of home-made Gin baking delights on social media to win a Kitchen Aid worth £300. See www.fentimans.com/ginbakery for more information.

Overall I enjoyed my little time here, and I think there should be more gin and tonic bakery opened across London.
