Who would turn down a chance to visit an enchanting library? – Not me. I visited The John Rylands Library while in Manchester.
While researching on what to see in Manchester, the suggestion of John Rylands Library kept being popped up. So after spending the morning exploring Manchester where I walked around exploring the town, I met up with Richard (as he was working that morning) and we made our way over to The John Rylands Library to see for ourselves.
How to describe this library? Well, let me tell you it’s nothing like your ordinary run on the mill library. If Beauty and The Beast were real (bear with me, you guys) and Belle was a real person; this would be her ideal dream library. Or if Hogwarts was a real school (don’t we all wish it was!) and they had a library you could visit, then this would be it.
Yes, The John Rylands Library is no ordinary library. I can only describe it as an enchanting library. Something you don’t see every day.
My understanding is, even the people behind the Harry Potters film series felt it was quite an enchanting library, as they used the entire place as set pieces for Hogwarts. You can walk around and pretend you’re in Hogwarts or maybe Hermione and doing some magic studying.
We spent about two hours exploring the library and was just taken in by all the beautiful architect and the hidden corners filled with ancient books of spells. (Not really!)
Overall, I can see why it was highly recommended to visit as it was something you would only ever get to see from a film.
If you want a little slice of Hogwarts magic and you like books – then visit The John Rylands Library as you won’t be disappointed.
