If ghost hunting or trick or treating isn’t your things this Halloween, then gather around on the sofa and watch some frightful delights on Amazon Prime and Netflix.
If I’m honest, Amazon Prime and Netflix saved my Halloween spirit this year. It sounds like a silly thing to say, but it really did. So how did these streaming services saved my Halloween spirit?
Well at the beginning of this month, I was having an existential crisis where I thought I had lost my Halloween spirit…forever. Cue the dun dun dun.
You can imagine my horror at the thoughts of this. But Amazon Prime and Netflix soon came to my rescue by showing an array of frightful delights that I could really sink my teeth into.
So what frightful delights what show? Well, ghouls and girls let me show you what is on offer this Halloween on Amazon Prime and Netflix. What frightful delights on Amazon Prime and Netflix will you watch?
Amazon Prime:
The Purge
I will admit not a franchise I especially care about, but If you are a fan of The Purge films – then you might like this TV series. From seeing from the trailer is look gory and murderous. But it might still have a few scares for you.
Sweeney Todd – The Demon Barber at Fleet Street
Fancy watching something where Johnny Depp sing? I only ever seen this film once as it another bloody, gory, murderous tale, which doesn’t take my interest. Still, a fun movie if you into that kind of thing.
The Walking Dead
This is only something I discovered the other day that this series was included with Amazon Prime package. So I’m looking forward to watching this. A zombie series where it supposed to be very thrilling and drama packed.
Grimm
I only have seen a few episodes of season 1 so far and it really enjoyable. It makes me think of another series – Supernatural. Detective Nick Burkhardt is a Portland, Oregon homicide detective with a strange secret: he’s a descendant of an elite group of hunters who are charged with stopping the proliferation of supernatural creatures in the world.
The Conjuring 1 and 2
I know this supposed to have a cult following, but I’m not one of them. Sorry. Based on real accounts and if you like real horror scary film – this is one of them.
Netflix:
The Chilling Adventure of Sabrina
Some folks might remember a particular TV series back in the 90s about a teenage witch? Well, forget everything you knew about that beloved Melissa Joan Hart series, as this is not a remark. This follows more closely to the original Archie comics, and this series is much darker than the 90s show. If you like the film The Craft, then this kind-of follow the same path. I only have seen two episodes so far it is terrific fun to watch. A worthwhile watch.
Haunted
If you watch any show like A haunting, My Haunted House or any these real account ghost stories show, then this is what Haunted is. An excellent way to kill an evening and to hear some spooky tales. This isn’t strictly all ghost related –it does cover the paranormal.
The Curious Creations of Christine Mcconnell
An unusual selection as this is a cooking show and there is nothing spooky about this. But it does show how to make haunting goodies for Halloween. A fun series to watch if you enjoy an unusual cooking show.
Malevolent
This is a film where a pair of siblings who con the grieving by making them believe they can contact the dead. But when they are invited to an old orphanage where brutal murders have taken place, they are confronted by something they didn’t fake.
The Haunting of Hill House
Now the big one and a series that been making a lot of screams lately. This can only be described as a true masterpiece as it so fricking good. If you watch one scary thing this Halloween – make it this. You will not be disappointed. It a true ghost frightening show, but It so much more than that. The drama is intense, and there are plenty of scares. A family one night flees their home – but who or what scares them out of their home? To those who have seen it, what are your thoughts on the red room?
That was my list of frightful delights on Amazon Prime and Netflix. What will you be watching this Halloween?
