Glasgow was the last place I visited while spending a few days up in Scotland. Richard had work and I was free to explore and see more of the city. Already, while up in Scotland, I travelled to Edinburgh and saw its castle.
My day in Edinburgh was kind-of action pack as I wanted to see as much as possible. However, Glasgow was a little more chilled – purely as I was knackered and didn’t have the strength or energy to walk around, and also I didn’t have a full day schedule plan. It was the case of, walk around and see what caught my eyes. Richard was finishing his work early that day, so it wasn’t a full day – more like half a day.
I checked out of the hotel, the first on my agenda was to find a bakery or a cafe for breakfast.
I decided to spend the morning walking around Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art, which you can see more of on my Instagram. It was interesting to walk around the art gallery, but sadly a few areas were closed off for refurbishment, so maybe not ideal if you want to spend a morning visiting.
Taking advice for the gallery curator, I decided to walk up to see Glasgow Cathedral and also to see the numerous murals that are on various side of buildings.
Glasgow from what I gather has a big art project, and as you walk around, you see all these fantastic murals. It was really interesting to see, so I recommend you take a walk up to the cathedral to view them all.
Glasgow Cathedral felt like something out of Harry Potter. I wouldn’t be surprised if JK Rowling got a few inspirations from here.
By early afternoon the battery of my phone was dying so I had to find a Samsung shop to charge it up. So, I had to sit in Samsung for an hour charging up my phone.
I then fancied cake and a chai latte, so I went to a Starbucks to warm up and to have my mid-afternoon snack. By that, Richard text me saying he has finished work and is on his way to meet me so we can head over to the airport.
So that was the end of my time up in Scotland, and I have to say, it was an amazing visit. I would go back in a heartbeat. Scotland is truly an enchanting part of the UK. Everyone was so lovely and helpful.
As you can imagine, I’m already planning my next visit and this time I want to see more of Scotland.
