Welcome back to my Wardrobe Wear Wednesday, a new series on here where I delve deep into my wardrobe, and I’ll pick out one item and share it on here.

Not only do I share it on here, but you must also help me decide whether to keep it or throw it away (or at least donate to charity). My wardrobe is chuck full right now, and I need to free up some space. Think of it as helping a friend out and giving some fashion advice.

Lindy Bop Pink City Swing Dress

It does not mean a thing if you ain’t got that swing. A few years ago, I liked to think I had a swing going on as I kind of went a little crazy for retro-ish 50s swing dress. They are fun, glamorous and a good way to hide my apple figure.

At the time I was inspired by Mad Men and as I studied a lot of vintage fashion while at uni so I sort of just dived into 50s style swing dresses.

This is just one swing dress I have in my wardrobe, a Lindy Bop Pink City Swing Dress. I think it called An Audrey, yes named after Audrey Hepburn, which Is perfect as I love her style.

My weight soon skyrocketed, and at the time, I did not feel glamourous, so I stepped away from my swing dresses obsession.

However, I soon lost a lot of weight and have made a vow to get back into 50s style swing dresses. But then the lockdown happens. But I have vowed that once this whole lockdown is over, I’m going to go out and get back into swing dresses.

Once a swing dress girl – always a swing dress girl is my moto.

Having written all this and saying how I want to get back into swing dress, I am sad to report that Lindy Bop has gone into administration. This breaks my little heart as I adore the brand, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they would come back and stronger than ever.
