Last week we went to Hampton Court, and it got me thinking about two things: embroidered cardigan and Autumn. Here’s why.

As we woke up that morning of our Hampton Court visit, I felt a cold shiver run down my spine. The shiver wasn’t a result of any ghoul/paranormal (they do say when a spirit is nearby your body react to it), but the cold air I found my home in.

It gave me my first real glance of the forthcoming season: Autumn. As I write this September is only a few days away, and I’m excited. This is my mood every year, and long-term readers would know that I’m a girl who loves Autumn.

Waking up with goosebumps made me realize that it was not going to be a day wearing a bright summer dress, it was going to be a day where I would say goodbye to this style and start to embrace my Autumn fashion; Especially a cardigan.

Now, growing up, I always wore a cardigan. It was my Autumn fashion staple. It might have been that my school was a boarding school in an old Victorian mansion, and the heating wasn’t up to scratch. But throughout my school years, I basically live in my cardigan, so it strange that as I grew up and gold older, I forgo my cardigan.

I decided to swap cardigan for oversize cosy jumper or fleece, but I was in Sainsbury looking at their TU range, and a simple embroidered cardigan caught my attention.

A whole lot of lost feeling came flooding back, especially to when I was younger and more carefree. I wanted to be that little girl again who would always wear her cardigan.

So that day when getting ready to visit Hampton Court and with a rumoured storm approaching (it was forecast heavy rain) I reached for my newly brought embroidered cardigan.

Hampton Court I have been too many times, especially as I live relatively close to it. With the threat of a storm, we still decided to visit, and if it got too stormy, we would sit inside the palace and wait for it to pass over.

Luckily, we managed to walk around the garden and took some photos outside, but as we were walking back inside a black cloud approaches and it started to pour down heavily with rain.

The storm did cut our visit short, and due to the virus; they had closed off a large portion of the palace which was disappointing. I have previously done a Halloween special at Hampton Court and got to walk through Anne Boylan corridor in the dark; That was one area they have closed off, and I couldn’t revisit it during the day.

It also a requirement to wear a mask while walking around the palace.

That day I was pleased I decided to wear my embroidered cardigan as I would have got soaked. That day Autumn was defiantly in the air and I, for one, cannot wait to embrace it. I also cannot wait for Aurum fashion and embracing more cardigans.
