Today I’m going to write about something a little something different then normal, nothing to different to those who know me. I love listening to all kind of music, from country to heavy metal – my music taste is wide and some call it weird. So today is going to be a music oriented post and not something I usually write about.

Let me introduce you to Cole Phoenix (born Nicole Pentis) is an Australian actress, singer/songwriter, novelist, scriptwriter and director from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

Cole Phoenix music harks back to the 1980s and earlier – but although the beats breathe classic style, they are infused with a distinctly modern rock edge. Poised to tantalize with honey-soaked vocals and an impressive musical range Cole Phoenix comes across with the innate elegance of Audrey Hepburn and a splash of the glamourous Marilyn Monroe. Her passionate and unpredictable lyrics are profoundly unique and her voice is reminiscent of a haunting angel.

Her new single ‘Hello’ was released on New Year Day and it’s an 80s up-tempo dance pop record, judge for yourself by watching the music video:

The interesting thing about this video was that this was filmed entirely on the IPhone 6 – how cool is that!

As an emerging soloist with an untainted perspective, Phoenixʼs work in singing and songwriting is both pure and cognizant. She stands on her own in a saturated music industry, as her appeal is innovative, genuine, relatable, and beautiful. Phoenix is currently signed with Noble NoBull Productions.

Before entering the industry she was awarded Senior Dux of the School, many awards for academic merit and received state and nation-wide accolades for Drama, English, History and French competitions. Ranking first for English, English Extension, Ancient History, French, Australian Constitutional Studies and Speech and Drama at the conclusion of the senior year.

She wrote a fictional crime novella that was awarded Most Publishable in a state-wide competition and a historic script on Spartan King Leonidas, shortlisted in the Queensland Young Playwrights’ Awards. She has always had a passion for creative expression and artistic endeavors.

Although in University (Griffith) her fictional works were published and awarded High Distinctions – she discontinued the study of Creative Arts majoring in Writing and Theatre to concentrate on writing a young adults’ novel and working on an album.

She was interested in singing throughout her childhood, taking principal roles in various musicals but, it was not until after her school years that she was inspired to write songs.

After producing the first album Wild Love and releasing single Love or Loathe a music video was filmed in Queenstown New Zealand and she then came to LA, California and Vancouver BC to produce first commercial album ‘Cole Phoenix,’ starting off releasing the single ‘Falling For You.’

During the production she was considered by casting director Ellen Chenoweth for young Emma Thompson role Olivia in Will Smith’s MIB 3 and was close to joining Baz Lurhman with the production The Great Gatsby. However, she has yet to become a household name in acting and this is one of her aspirations as well as making a mark in the music industry and deep impact in the entertainment world. Phoenix is on the rise, set to burn hot as coal.

Her new single ‘Hello’ is available to buy on ITunes now and here’s a few links on how you can find out more on Cole Phoenix.
