Since Lockdown has ended, I decided to take up my favourite activity – swimming. This is great for me as I get to do quite a workout, but it is not great on my hair. Therefore, I turned to Lush Rehab shampoo as my hair need a little TLC.
Years and years ago, I reviewed Lush I Love Juicy Shampoo as, at the time, it was my favourite shampoo ever. Seriously at the time, I was raving about it as it made my hair so bloody soft, silk and healthy. Then like all good things, it came to the end of me using it when Lush decided to discontinue the I love Juicy Shampoo. Which annoyed me but hey, ho that life, I’ll just back using regular supermarket shampoo brands.
I wrote recently that I rediscovered Lush and once again became a self-proclaimed Lush-acholic. Amid my spending spree, I picked up their shampoo, Rehab and decided to give it ago.
I believe Lush Rehab is their replacement, an upgrade to their discontinued shampoo product; I Love Juicy. So, for an apparent reason, I was keen to see if this was to be my new hair product favourite.
I made a promise to myself that once Lockdown ended and everything started to open up again, I will take up swimming again. I always found swimming to be a better workout than going on the cardio machine, and it does give me a pretty good workout overall.
While it might give me a good workout, it doesn’t do any good for my hair. I find chlorine dry my hair out and make it feel slimy. I always find that I need to wash my hair as soon as I come out of the pool.
This is where Lush Rehab comes in. Trust me when I say my hair needed a little TLC.
Lush describe it as:
Give hair that’s been heat-styled, bleached, dyed, teased and flat-out stressed some serious recovery time with Rehab. We squeeze fruit juices into the base of this shampoo, including pineapple, papaya, mango and kiwi, to deep cleanse, nourish and add shine. Herbs stimulate the scalp while olive oil increases the strength of hair, softens and hydrates. Your hair detox starts here.

After a swimming session, I decided to use this where my hair felt horrible, and I needed to wash away the chlorine.

Instantly I love the smell of this, it is a fruity minty fragrant, and it reminds me of I Love Juicy.
Does it work for chlorine damp hair? I can say without a doubt that yes, it does. Lush Rehab rehabs my hair from tops to tips; it is in the name after all. For the first time in a long time, I felt and saw the difference in my hair. Personally, it gives me that glossy hairdresser feels I never managed throughout Lockdown. I do think this is the perfect shampoo to use after swimming.
Overall, Lush Rehab shampoo is a perfect replacement for I Love Juicy and its usage when you need to clean your hair after swimming. It does also go well with the American Cream conditioner. Highly recommended and now a Lush favourite.
