Ladies and Gentlemen, I have done it! I’ve finally quitted my retail job. For the past 10 years I have worked in retail and I’m never ever going back, I worked for Waitrose and if I’m honest by the end of it, I was so ready to leave. There’s lots of things I want to say but I feel now isn’t a good time for that as I’m a great believer of not burning any bridges and just moving on and not worry about the past or the people I have encountered. What I will say is, what a bloody relief, while I was working there I was really stressed and I often compare working there like having a fight with Mike Tyson. There would be days when I would finish a shift and I would just burst out in tears, also there would be day when I would wake up with utter dread and start shaking with fear – I ended up dreading my job. Well now I don’t need to feel like that anymore as soon as I handed in my notice the enormous weight was lifted off my shoulder and the euphoria was overwhelming, I had fellow colleague and friends flooding my Facebook page once I put up a status saying I was leaving.
So what am I going to do instead? I’m going full-time as a social media coordinator. Yup you read that right! I’m now employed by two company as their social media coordinator. So what does that mean? I would look after the companies social media page and help them increase awareness online, I deal with SEO, Google analytic and etc. The great thing is for one of the day I can be working from home and it’s really flexible and a little stress-free which I like.
This also won’t be an easy things for me, there not doubt I be tearing my hair out or crying in a pillow on a few day but one door shut, another door will open, however I’m a great believer in this expression and I’m feeling a lot more positive with the knowledge that more doors will open now.
I’m in the middle of sorting out my business website which I’m hoping to be ready by the end of this week and then I’m going to start work on my new profession. I’m saying profession as I hate the word ‘career’ (it a personal thing!). There will be lots of changes in the next few weeks/months so hopefully you will enjoy.
This is also a good thing as It would give me more time to work on my blog, work on a few project I have lined up and I can start being me and looking after myself. For a time being I can breath easy. I can have time to cook food from scratch and time to do Zumba in the evening, I can see my parents less often and start enjoying more time with Richard. If I’m honest I wasn’t cut out for retail work!
So yeah that my latest update so no more retail job and hello full time social media coordinator.
