I hoped you guys had an awesome Halloween weekend, mine was pretty eventful. I couldn’t spend my weekend at home doing nothing, why would I do that? Here’s what I was upto this weekend:
On Halloween during the day I was invited to the Thistle Halloween event,it was hosted at the Thistle hotel near Tottenham Court Road. The ideas was to do Halloween make-up to each other and to eat lots of spider-infected cupcakes:
I’m not good with putting makeup on other people, especially using cream face paint and thick crayons, but I tired my best and honestly I don’t think the guy was that impress with me for drawing on his face. The event started with an intro and a tour around the Thistle Hotel Holborn. The hotel had a modem feel…specially as it was grade 2 listed building while featuring a black and white vintage look to it. The hotel room we toured was really clean and modern. Here a photo of me in a frame:
Overall it was a fun event and a good excuse to wear face paint. I wore it home and showed it to my husband who had a great laugh from it. The thing for me is that wearing face paint really make my skin itchy and irritated so once I took plenty of photos and showed my husband I wiped it off and gave myself a good facial.
For Halloween evening I settled down with a cocktail and watched a good classic horror film on Netflix – Scream.
The next evening was my ”haunted Jack The Ripper tour” which I was very excited for. The 1st November start the day in a thick fog which covered everything in sight, so a perfect condition for a haunted tour. I will admit I’m not that interested in the whole Jack The Ripper saga, what made me book it was that i’m fascinated by the history of London. I love reading any old stories on old Victorian London and looking at old photos.
A lot of the tour was on an open air bus, and a walk around East London. I will admit the fog gave everything a real eerie spooky feel and it was fascinating to listen to the historian tour guide. I didn’t take much pictures as my camera couldn’t handle the night light. But I did take this photo on my phone:
Very eerie and spooky don’t you think? I didn’t really like the tale of how Jack The Ripper killed people (I’m not into gore), I was more interested in the ghost stories – which didn’t happen. I was expecting to hear ”Jack The ripper killed Catherine and since then her ghost has been seen’, something like that. It was called ‘the haunted Jack The Ripper Tour’ after all. Anyway It was still fun and a good way to round off my Halloween weekend. It not every weekend you get to celebrate Halloween is it?
So that was my weekend – well Halloween weekend anyway. What did you get up to this weekend?
Now enough Halloween talk – shall we discuss Christmas?
