Do you ever just wake up one day and just get fed up of your day to day routine and just want to do something fun and different? Well that how I felt yesterday, it was such a lovely day and all I could think about was wanting to be next to a pool sipping on cocktails and basically chilling out.
So with that in mind I didn’t need to grab my passport but I thought off a perfect way to chill out and to do something different, I decided to spend a day at Sanctuary Spa in Covent Garden.
If you hasn’t heard of it before then where have you been? It’s a 4 level spa experience where it cater to everything you need to feel pamper and relaxed. It based around the back of Covent Garden tube station in Central London and a brilliant way to escapes the city buzz.
I been wanting to go for a while and yesterday I just thought ‘sod it I do it’ so booked a Sanctuary spa massage with a sleep retreat treatment. I was told to bring a swimming costume and a towel and they would provide everything else.
I got there about midday and my treatment was at 1pm so I had an hour to catch my breath after rushing up their like a mad hound.
The changing area decor was gorgeous, very glamourous and plenty of products on displayed, they give you a special magnet locker key which you keep on you all day, they also give you a little clear bag where you can keep anything you want on as you go about the spa.
Like I mention before, the spa is on 4 floor so there a little bit of going up and down on several flight of stairs, as I had 40 minute to kill before my massage I went exploring and to discover what the spa has in store.
The main area to chill out here is Koi carp lounge, it’s also where you can sip on cocktails and order some foods.
The Koi Carp Lounge is right next to the famous swimming pool with swing. I didn’t actually use this pool as there is a better pool (more quiet there) on the lower floor.

Anyway after exploring, it was time to go for my spa treatment and my therapist was brilliant. I opted for a 25 minute massage and it was perfect, lovely smelling oil was massaged into me and with enough pressure to certainly to knock out any knots in my back. The only thing was it was over very quickly and I wished I booked another appointment as I wanted to do another one straight after.
After a blissful 25 minute massage I then had time to chill out at the Koi Carp Lounge and then I went for my sleep retreat.
Its another 25 minute where you go in a darken room, lie on a vibrating bed under some covers and listen to mediation voice-over. That was really nice and you almost fall asleep but once again it went to quickly.
After just laying around and relaxing, I wanted to do some swimming so I went down to the exercise pool and did a good 40 minute swim. It was lovely as by that time I had the entire pool to myself which suit me as I hate sharing swimming pool (i’m not a confident swimmer). Off course while I down there I used the heat room and sauna which did my dry wonder.
I did some more chilling out and I almost fall a sleep on the sun lounger but a text from my hubby brought me down to earth. He didn’t know I was there so wondering why I wasn’t answering my phone.
So yeah that was my day, a brilliant experience with everything you need. I recommend anyone who has a spare free day to go, but my tips it to book a full day and not to go at weekend as I can imagine Koi Carp Lounge to get pretty crowded.
I’m already planning my next trip in my head and I’m having spa withdrawal symptom.
