At the weekend I did some much-needed retail therapy, the kind of retail therapy where I needed to cut loose and just spend spend! Usually I’m quite restricted on what I buy and set myself a budget – naa not this time as I really wanted to buy a lot of new things such a clothes and make-up. I brought quite a lot of really nice things and now my bank balance isn’t looking too healthy. Oh well you only live once…
Anyway I went shopping to Oxford Street and over to the big John Lewis store. I found myself wandering over to the Benefit beauty counter and saw this lovely little kit, the Dandelion Wishes kit. I love Benefit make-up kit as they contain everything you need in sample size which is a perfect size for me as I’m not exactly make-up crazy.
This kit contains:
- Dandelion brightening face powder
- Dandelion Ultra Plush Gloss
- Roller lash mascara
- Posie balm lip balm
- High Beam highlighter
I think you’d agree with me on how pretty this look, also the lady behind the counter told me it was brand new and just out. So let me do a quick review on each of the products:
Dandelion Ultra Plush Gloss
Our plush glosses glide on extra smooth and feel ahhh-mazing. The six irresistible shades, from sultry nudes to punchy pinks, come in soft-squeeze tubes with a custom tip designed for perfectly even application.
I will admit I’m not the biggest lip-gloss user as I have to be careful as a lot of lip products make me break out in rashes, but I do like the look of this one. This lip gloss isn’t sticky, has a very light sheer pink tint to it, and feels really soft. Doesn’t have a bad smell either. Great for minimal daytime looks also great to throw into your handbag.
Dandelion brightening face powder
This sheer, ballerina-pink face powder takes your complexion from dull to radiant. Sweep it on cheeks as a soft blush or dust it all over face as a brightening finishing powder.
This is without doubt my new favorite powder. It is a beautiful, soft pink that is enough to give a gentle flush and it look to be super long-lasting so I don’t need to keep re-applying. It blend really nicely into my skin and give me a rosy glow.
High Beam highlighter
Our satiny pink liquid highlighter accents cheek & brow bones for a dewy glow. Use as a spot highlighter over makeup or wear under complexion products for subtle luminescence.
I have 3 sample size of this product which are not even half used, so I got plenty of primer to last for a while. It does have a lovely shimmer to it and accentuate features nicely, you just have to be careful not to apply too much in one area at once as you’ll lose the beautiful dewy effect and just look strangely shiny. High Beam is everything a highlighter should be; opaque, shimmery, very light, and smooth. It is incredibly easy to use.
Posie balm lip balm
Posiebalm conditions & hydrates with mango butter and sodium hyaluronate. This kiss of sheer color gives you the prettiest lips.
At first I will admit I wasn’t too sure on this – another lip products and one I fear should be weary off. This product is very moisturizing, so it feels lovely and smooth on my lips which is nice as a lot lip products can also dry my lips out. Its a really nice natural-ish pink and goes well with my pale skin tone. Unfortunately, Posie Balm is so strongly scented of roses, which isn’t great as a lip balm. I might keep this one as a back-up.
Roller lash mascara – I will admit I skipped over this as I couldn’t really show you as I got a cyst in my eye at the moment and trust me it pretty gross!
Overall I like the kit and as I’m very much into pretty pink this spring in term of make-up, this is exactly what I need. If you are not into heavy make-up then I do suggest this kit.
