Las week Richard and I decided to take some time out for ourselves and to take a little trip to the coast. After all, I don’t know if you have notice but we (when I say we – I mean the whole of the UK) are in the midst of a little heatwave. Yeah it have been a scorcher, I mean 34c scorcher. I’m not complaining, In fact I’m trying to enjoy it while I can – hence why we decided to take a little trip down to Weymouth, Devon.
But before we went to the coast we stopped off at Wool and visited the Monkey World park. It basically a monkey rescue and protection enclosure and you can wander around and see the various monkeys.
I think those poor monkeys were feeling the heat as much as we were. It was unbearably hot that day! If it was bad for us human – can you imagine how those poor animals must feel! Due to that they were very docile and just lay around in the shade trying to keep cool. At the park we’re not allowed one to one with the monkeys as they were all rescued and might get a little upset with human so we saw them in their various closure. However as always in these kind of place that didn’t stopped people tapping on the window trying to get their attention, for god sake people stop banging on the window and let them rest easy in the shade. It’s a pet peeve of mine – they are wild animals and not circus performers. One more thing I will say’ their enclosure did look very roomy and big enough for them, so you don’t have to worry – they won’t in small cages.
Lastly throughout the day we cooled down with various ice creams and water throughout the day and just enjoyed looking around.
If you like us and love monkeys (who doesn’t love monkeys) then I do recommend Monkey World.
