Sunday, a day of relaxation and for the good old fashion Sunday roast dinner. It bring back fond childhood memories.

To those who live in the UK, I’m say UK – as I’m not 100% sure that having a Sunday roast dinner is such a big thing in other part of the world. Please by all mean – tell me I’m wrong.

Anyway, as I was saying; to those who live in the UK – where would be without our traditional Sunday roast dinner?

It just wouldn’t be right, would it? I mean who can say no to Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and stuffing.

You only have to look at these pictures of my last roast dinner with my parents and not have a growling in your stomach.

Don’t you wish there was smell-o-vision and taste-o-vision? And before you say to me, where the vegetables in this? I like a lot of root vegetables such as swedes, parsnips and carrots. It drives my parents crazy and they keep forgetting that I only like root vegetables. But fortunately my mum did include a little bit of swedes this time around – but forgot the rest of the vegetables.

I have memories growing up always look forward to a nice Sunday roast dinner. The house would smell amazing. I would help my mum in the kitchen making the Yorkshire puddings and having a taster before the meal. I would also always set the dinner table up and decorate it in ribbons or anything that was laying around the house – more often than not it would have my stuffed toys as decoration.

I also have memories of having a roast right after church. I’m not particularly religious – my mum is so she would drag me there kicking and screaming. But I often would go to flirt with the altar boys.

I do have fond childhood memories and I always associated Sunday as a Sunday roast dinner day. Even now as an adult – this one day in the week just wouldn’t be the same.

I now love cooking my own Sunday roast dinner and adding my own twist to ingredients – I mean recently I put fajita powder sauce in my gravy. Well it nice to spice to things up once in a while.

Richard share my love for Sunday roast dinner and liked me grew up on it as well. He does also always compliments me on my dinner.

Cooking a Sunday roast dinner is a lot of work – but also easy and fun. So even if you are not from the UK and not familiar with this very British tradition. Do try and cook a Sunday roast, your taste buds will thank you for it.

And if you are from the UK? What are your childhood memories? Please do share and tell me your Sunday roast dinner stories.
