When the weather warming up and with summer right around the corner. It only makes sense to have a day out at Brighton, right?
Richard and I have both been feeling over worked lately. I’ve been chained to my desk 24/7 and he has been going here there and everywhere due to his works (he’s a professional photographer). So we really haven’t had much time to be together to go out anywhere.
I mentioned to Richard about a week ago that I would like a day out at Brighton – or to be more precise I wanted to go down to Brighton to visit their Homesense store.
And yes, I did indeed go down to Brighton to visit a Homesense store. As I have read so many blog posts and reviews of the Homesense stores I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Someone once told that a Homesense store is crossed between Laura Ashley and Homebase. So I wanted to see it for myself.
I know what you’re thinking, why go all the way down to Brighton to visit a home store? There is a nearer Homesense store to where I live– but it on a big industrial park which always make me nervous visiting and you can only get there by car. So overall it isn’t practical for me to visit my local store.
Anyway, where was I? – Oh yes a day out at Brighton. It not like I need a big excuse to visit one of my favorite UK seaside town. I could quite happily move down there as I bloody love it.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I always consider Brighton to be quite a youthful town. Despite it being a traditional old seaside town – it has quite a young vibe. That could be that it has a big university and a big LGBT culture.
Brighton is also more than a seaside place, it’s a shopping area with quirky shops and little old lanes that you can get lost.
Last week, I unchained myself from my desk and Richard finally had a free day so we took ourselves out to Brighton.
I think at this point the pictures will show you my perfect day out at Brighton. Also we were really lucky that day as the weather was boiling. It felt more summer – than spring.
Let me show you the Homesense store. It was filled with loads of quirky and colourful home décor. Beautiful artificial flowers (that looked so real!), handpainted mugs and even a Buddha statue. I now can see why people seem to love Homesense so much and I really wished they did home delivery or there’s a more convenient store where I live.
There is one quirky shop you will find down the lane; a rubber duck shop. This sell nothing but rubber ducks. How cool is that! They do every single variation you can imagine. Love it.
These photos are the famous Brighton lane. A narrow street that has quirky little shops. Richard and I was saying to shame these kind of narrow lane street are dying out – they need to preserved somehow.
We did eventually get down to the front, it not all shopping. And you also cannot go all the way down there and not sit down on their stones beach. The weather was lovely and warm but the sea front has a cool breeze which was refreshing.
If you do have a day out at Brighton, you have to visit their famous pier. It a long pier that goes right out to the sea and it has everything. Amusements, rides, casino and restaurants. It just fun to walk around and to play on the amusements games.
So yes that was my day out at Brighton. It nice to get some sea air and to be unchained from my desk. If you want a day out, it well worth making the visit down.
