Let’s be honest, vintage homewares are a great way to avoid that boring same old home stuff that everyone has in their home already. So much for individuality right? Which is great by the way if you like that sort of thing, but what if you want to strike out on your own nothing wrong with that. well if you’re like me and you’ve got something very specific in mind, I’d probably head straight for Etsy or Ebay but here are my favorite UK vintage homewares shops for a good old browse.
The Mint List sell a lot of lovely things, new and old, that are most definitely worth checking out for anything vintage too. They sell industrial style furniture, brilliant old letters and this rather handsome Owl Scissor holder that is in stock at the moment.
Live Love and Laugh is the place for turning your home into a cute cottage in the middle of a countryside. Lots of adorable home accessories and furniture. For example this heart shape mirror which would sit perfect in a cute shabby chic kitchen or bedroom.
Vintage Home, is the place to visit if your preference for homeware is on the more romantic side of vintage style. They specialise in 20th-century textiles, and have gorgeous floral examples of bedspreads and quilts, such as the homemade embroidered needlework bag.
Retro-Bazaar offer affordable retro items, such as these 1950s sugar storage tins. Also check out their 1970s Psychedelic Orange Wooden Tray, I hasn’t seen one of those since I was a young girl.
Take a look at Retro Mojo. They’ve got collectible glass and ceramics, served with a healthy dose of vintage framed picture. I include for example this 1980’s Mediterranean Deco Villa Print as I remember – while growing up in the 1980s – seeing a lot of these pictures up on people wall.
This list is all about online vintage homewares. Something that all these store do brilliantly with their range of vintage and retro. Any online favorites I’ve missed? Let me know in the comments and I can include it again in future post.
