Ok I need your help, I’m going to a wedding in a couple of week and I can’t decide on whether to go for my usual all in black attire or go a little out and retro with this outfit. Normally I wouldn’t even go to a wedding as well they are my least favorite thing ever, but this time I’m kind obligated to go for the sake of my parents. It my second cousin (seriously who keep track on who second cousin?) daughter wedding and if I’m honest, I never met this person but my mum want me to go as I never do anything with my side of the family anymore so I don’t have a choice. I’m not exactly looking forward to it as it will be full of drunken relative who can’t get their head around that I’m a social media manager and I get paid to write on Facebook.
Anyway normally when there is a family event on, I normally dress head to toes in black as my way to blend in and hope no one would notice me. I’ve mentioned before but I’m socially awkward, shy and an introvert, social gathering is my idea of hell. Yes this wedding will be hell to me – Why am I going again?
Buuuut, I kind of want to dress up this time, not to show off and be the center of attention, but just for the fun of it. I have a wardrobe of clothes and often no where to go. My clothes often leads a sad life and the most excitement it get if I wear it while doing my food shop. I think even as an adult I still like to dress up and have fun. Why shouldn’t I? I think you will agree with me that often it the getting ready is the most fun and enjoyable aspect of going out, rather then actually going somewhere. It’s fun to try on different outfits to see what work and doesn’t.
So this is why I want to ditch the all-in-one black and try something different, for example this cashmere and polka dots outfit. It kind of have a retro-ish vibe to it and it different to what I normally wear out. I’m normally a trouser and blouse girl, but I said this year will be the year I’ll learn to love skirt and break bad habit. If you know me anyway, you would know I can never ever say no to polka dots, who would? Polka dots are quintessentially chic and fun, and I that why I love them on clothes. I even wrote a brief history of polka dots.
So a little bit bolder then what I would ever go for, but going back to my original question. Should I wear the cashmere or go all in black? Is there any part of the out you like or do like? The cashmere is a little bit baggy on me and also see through but that can easily be fixed. The skirt is a good fit and long enough to cover my legs.
So guys, what would you do?
