Here we go again, another baking post. This lockdown certainly has brought the baker out of me. Let me show you my latest baking kit, Dr Oetker Chocolate Salted Caramel Tray Kit.
I go into baking mode when I’m bored or have the need to munch on chocolate – which let me tell you is all the time. I inherited my love of baking from my mother, who I consider to be a masterful baker. Seriously there is nothing my mum can’t bake, and I remember as I was growing up, there was always delicious smell of baking wafting through the house.
But the thing that set us apart, mum got patience and can carefully weigh every ingredient and take extra care, where I’m not like that, and I don’t have the patience. I like to throw ingredients into a bowl and be done with it as soon as possible. I’m more into the result than the actual work.
Anyway, you guessed it, I was bored, and yes, I was craving chocolate, so, I deiced to use Dr Oetker Chocolate Salted Caramel Tray Kit.
What I like about Dr Oetker Chocolate Salted Caramel Tray Kit was that it came with its own baking tray. A folded box in which you can put in the mixture and straight into the oven. This means you don’t have to use your own baking tray, and there is less washing up afterwards.
For a bone-lazy person like me who is more interested in the result and hate doing the washing up afterwards, this made the whole baking so much simpler.
The whole time I was baking this, I thought they were brownie, and it was only when Richard pointed out later that they not in fact brownie, but cakes. Whatever they were, they were delicious, especially with the salted caramel icing.
Overall, I was pleased with this, and it did indeed satisfy my craving without too much effort. The baking tray worked like a treat and didn’t turn my kitchen into a bomb site.
