I have mentioned magazines quite a few time now, so I thought today I will show you even more magazines I have discovered.
I’m sure by now you’re thinking to yourself, ‘my god Anna is waffling about more magazines she has found, wow she really is a magazine junkie.’
Yup if you are thinking that, then you are not wrong! As once again while shopping in Sainsbury’s I found some new magazines that I just need to tell you all about it.
I will admit and say, that finding magazines at Sainsbury’s is never on my shopping list, I don’t sit down and write my shopping and think to myself, ooh I got eggs, milks and something missing – oh I know magazines!
My Sainsbury’s is a huge outlet and it stocks everything, clothes, electrical appliances, home décor and there a huge section on magazines and books. I just find myself gravitation there every time I do my shop.
Anyway, now you know how I do my food shopping. Moving on.
I have found myself as I got older hating all the celebrity gossip magazines that often lined any newsstands. This is a complete contrast to how I was a few years ago when I would buy nothing but celebrity’s gossip magazines, I once thought Heat magazine was my bible.
Now I can’t look at those publications without cringing, I mean have you seen some of the headlines that are on the front page? It just pure trash.
Sadly, a lot of magazines – or at least popular magazines, are filled with reality TV rubbish. As you might have guessed, I don’t ever watch reality TV and I’m not a fan of those show. I just find them boring and so cringey. Sorry if you are a fan of those type of shows, I’m just not.
So anyway as I got older, I found myself looking to other publications that I would want to look at and have a good read. Something that will inform me and teach me something I never knew.
This is why I love the look of these three magazines: Willow & Sage, In The Moment and Project Calm. Let me tell you a little bit more about each of them.
If you are into Essential Oils, like me. Then you will love this magazine. As it shows you how to put those essential oils into practical usage. How useful is that? This has detailed explanation on how to make homemade scrubs, bath bombs and any other homemade cosmetic. It has beautiful photos and clear instructions. If you want to learn on how to make homemade cosmetic, then I do recommend you to pick up this magazine.
Willow and Sage magazine is filled with more than 70 unique recipes, uses, and beautiful packaging ideas for homemade bath and body products. In addition to showcasing natural bath salts and soaks, soaps, face masks, chemical-free makeup, lotions, sugar scrubs, how to use essential oils, and more, Willow and Sage features 144 pages of refreshing new layout designs, hand-illustrated tips, educational information such as eye-catching infographics, and the benefits of specific ingredients. If you’re looking for the perfect homemade gift idea for any occasion, each issue provides DIY inspiration for creative packaging and the most unique gifts and spa bundles.
This got my attention from it beautiful illustrated front cover. When you flicked through it beautifully laid out nicely with lots of bright illusions and informative features. There also a section where you can tear out a page and post the positive message on your wall. If you’re into your personal wellbeing and want to live more healthily, then I do recommend this magazine.
In the Moment is a brand new, monthly magazine offering practical lifestyle tips for the modern creative. Beautifully presented as a 116-paged mag, with card inserts, posters and stickers, In The Moment has an easy-going approach to mindfulness covering every aspect of living: creativity, wellbeing, home and travel.
Another magazine that sort of follow in the same pattern as in The Moment. I picked this up as I love the front cover illustration. Once again you tear out a page and post the positive message on your wall, there even stickers you can put on your notebooks, if you wished.
For a limited time, you can take a sneaky peek of the magazine, so you get a general idea on what it about. http://issuu.com/immediatemediaco/docs/calm_digisampler1

With four distinct sections covering Nature, Home, Travel and Mind & Body, Project Calm taps into the mindfulness zeitgeist, offering interesting reads and insight into the everyday aspects of our lives.
Encouraging readers to try a new creative pastime, the magazine is packed with contemporary crafts – including calligraphy, papercutting and origami-style paperfolding – and creative ideas with herbs, maps, stamps and beach finds.
Project Calm is a visual treat, printed on luxurious paper and card and designed with a modern look and feel, with quality card inserts such as animal kits, papercutting templates, floral illustration posters, plus retro-style stickers.
