For us girls, getting that monthly thing isn’t pleasant. This is why there a new subscription box that aimed to make it more enjoyable. Let me introduce you to the pink parcel.
Getting our period every month is a right bitch. Well, it is. You can’t deny it isn’t. Us woman, we do suffer every month with our period. Some more than other, arguably.
I’m a bear with a sore thumping head when it comes to my period. As I got older, it has got easier. But I still do suffer. Oh, boy, did I suffer.
When I younger, I went on birth control pills and injection. And to put it frankly – it fudged up my monthly cycle. To the point where I was having my period for nearly every single day for nearly 6 months straight. I’m not joking. There was no break, it just kept on going. This leads me to have adenomyosis for nearly a year.
I, of course, saw a gynaecologist who told me to stop any birth controls and gave me special treatment to calm it down. It took nearly a year for it to calm down. But my god it was living hell.
But that all the past and since then I’ve been wary of birth controls. The doctors said I was a special case (cheers!) with this issue.
So it safe to say, I’m not exactly a fan of my monthly cycle. But now in my 30s, and as I said earlier – it has got easier. It became manageable. I also learnt a few ways to relieve period pains and how to overcomes PMS.
For those who are suffering from our lovely gift every month. Or looking for an easier solution. Then let me introduce you to the pink parcel.
Pink Parcel unites periods and pampering to make your time of the month fuss-free and fabulous. This is essentially a subscription box dedicated to that time of the month.
I was lucky enough to sample a box, so let me talk you through the pink parcel.
When you open the box, you get three little boxes inside. And one little pull string bag. Each box contains:
The pull string bag has sanitary towels and a little disposable bag. A nice way if you want to be discreet.
The night box has more sanitary towels.
And the later box has, even more, sanitary towels. At least you won’t be running to a drugstore like a manic for a while.
The last box doesn’t have sanitary towels. But lovely little beauty samples.
It also got chocolate. Don’t know about you, but I can’t survive without chocolate during my period. The beauty samples are lovely and very thoughtful. But I can’t see how a make-up brush and eyeshadow going to make my period easier. Trust me, when it comes to my period – make-up or my appearances is the very last thoughts on the mind.
Overall:
The pink parcel is a nice idea and great for a tween or a young teenager, as it can be so scary to have a period when you trying to get to grip with your puberty hormones. But if you already been having a period for the last 20ish odd years, then this does feel a little bit of a letdown.
The beauty items are a nice idea, but I was expecting a little hot water bottle or some way to pamper yourself. As I said, makeup is not on my mind when it comes to that time of the month.
So if you know a young person and want to give them a helping hand, then I do recommend pink parcel. But I feel it isn’t worth the subscription, and it should be something you should buy or received as a one-off.
