In February, you might remember me going to Paris and taking a special trip to Sephora. It was inevitable that I would visit Sephora while in Paris, as it the only place in I can visit a Sephora store and pick up lots of lovely beauty goodies.
One of the beauty goodies I picked up was this Sephora Midnight Skincare Surprise. This was the last of their Christmas stock, so I got this cheaply, which was handy as I only had a certain amount of Euros to spend.
The Sephora Midnight Skincare Surprise comes in this lovely cracker package. And it contains four products which are:
- Masque Coconut Face Mask
- Masques Cucumber Eye Masks
- Masque Pineapple Nose Mask
- Baume Almond Hand Balm
I thought today I would test each of these out and give you feedback on how I got on with them. So if you ever have time to visit a Sephora store in Paris, you will have a brief idea of what to buy.
Fortunately, each product is written in both French and English, which make it easier to understand how to use it correctly. Also, these are sample size so these can only be used once.
From left to Right:
Sephora Almond Hand Balm:
A range of non-greasy hand balms in addictive scents and a luxurious texture.
Pamper hands with the ultimate skin-softening treatment of a skin-softening hand balm. Enriched with moisturising oils and waxes, it helps nourish skin while delivering softer, more beautiful hands with non-drying texture.
How did I get on?
Well, I couldn’t smell the almond. It just smelt of cream, but I should say that the scent isn’t strong. The balm sunk into my skin quickly and didn’t leave it feeling sticky. It did leave my hand feeling soft. My advice is, only use a pea size amount as it enough to cover both hands. This is not a bad little hand balm.
Sephora Pineapple Nose Mask:
This pineapple bio-cellulose nose mask perfectly hugs nose contours and tightens pores in just 15 minutes, featuring an exclusive formula enriched with pineapple extract of natural origin.
How did I get on?
This is the first time I have ever used a nose mask. The mask itself is a little too big for my nose, so it covers a little bit of my cheeks as well. When opening it, be careful not to leak the solution everywhere. Keep it on for 10-15 minutes.
The mask didn’t smell of pineapple; however, it did have a scent, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Whatever the scent was, it wasn’t pineapple, and it does smell quite strongly. I also found it didn’t do anything for pores. After leaving the mask on my nose for 10 minutes, I found that this only gives a cooling sensation and doesn’t do anything. Sadly, a product that doesn’t do anything, so it not worthwhile trying out.
Sephora Cucumber Eye Masks:
A line of natural fiber eye masks; each with a skin-refreshing benefit. New and improved fibers better conform to the contours of your skin for improved results.
How did I get on?
Slippery and slimy is how I would describe this. Also it quite fiddly in actually taking out of the packaging and putting it under the eyes. The mask seems to drip in it solutions so be careful taking it out. I didn’t smell any cucumber and to be honest, I couldn’t smell anything. It did, however, hydrate or at least did something to the skin around my eyes. It felt a lot fresher and smoother than before. Overall I would say only use this if the skin around the eyes feels dry and heavy.
Sephora Coconut Face Mask:
A collection of next-generation Sephora Collection face masks in a new bio-fiber to perfectly hug facial contours for more effective results.
How did I get on?
This mask feels, slippery, slimy and fiddly; while also feeling cooling and refreshing. Keep on 10 minutes. The mask smells faintly of coconut but you if you were told it doesn’t have a scent, you wouldn’t notice the coconut scent. When applying the mask, it felt refreshing, so I imagine a nice mask to use on a hot summer day. This, I found to be the best mask to use. My skin felt refresh and hydrated. I will happily use this again.
Overall:
The only products I found that work (so to speak) was the Almond hand balm. Well, maybe a little with the face and eye mask. The nose mask didn’t do anything for me. My advice would be to try out the Coconut face mask and hand balm but to leave out the rest.
For next Christmas, I would advise you all to try and get your hands on a Sephora Midnight Skincare Surprise. If not for yourself, it still would be a lovely gift to give to someone.
