When I was asked if I wanted to try out a brand new body scrub that is completely natural and vegan. Well I jumped at the chance as it came the right when I have just finished my body scrub and I needed a new one. So let me introduce you to Teal Anchor scrubs, a vegan and completely chemical-free body scrubs that was made with homemade oils rather than synthetic chemical products. I’ll admit that what I like best, that all scrubs was made in a kitchen rather than in a factory on a mass production line.
For the last couple of year I’ve been dealing with dry itchy skin, the kind that will just irritate you into madness. Honestly it can drive me up a wall on some day. I have no idea what cause it and I have also gone to a dermatologist and they have no idea either. So that’s helpful. It comes and go and as well and I do think it affected by seasonal change. But it doesn’t matter if it summer or winter, my skin it still dry. An example I can give you on was a few month ago my scalp was itching like mad, I thought it was my shampoo & conditioner so I changed it to a more natural home-made remedy and wholia the itchiness stopped.
So the problem with my scalp and dry skin was my first step into switching into a more natural beauty body care. Which bring me back on why I was keen to try out Teal Anchor Scrub. They specialize in sugar scrubs that are both vegan and organic. These scrubs exfoliate the skin using natural ingredients like sugar instead of micro beads, meaning they are also great for the environment. All of Teal Anchor scrubs contain different essential oils also, meaning each scrub will benefit you in a different way. On their website there is a choice of 6 different scrubs:
I went for the Grapefruit Body Scrub. A Citrus and sweet an uplifting scrub that is great for an early morning or a pick me up later in the day. This sounded amazing and something I was keen to try out.
To show you how natural this scrub is, here is the list of ingredient:
- Sugar
- Coconut Oil
- Green Tea
- Sweet Almond Oil
- CI:45430 (Colouring)
- Grapefruit Essential Oil
It comes into a nice contained jar and it can be a little fiddly working the clip to open the jar but that’s just me so I wouldn’t worry about it. It also come with a handy little spoon to help you scoop the scrub which I thought was a neat idea.
For me I like to put the scrub on before a shower as it does say to apply on damp skin and then rinse off. The smell when you first open the jar really does smell a combination of other citrus fruits and off course grapefruit, the smell isn’t over powering and it smell really nice. Certainly an uplifting start!
Be aware that this scrub can be a little messy so it might be an idea to scoop some out onto a little bowl or a container – that if you are using in the bath or shower. If not then put a towel or don’t use it a carpet area. As when applying I did notice It was a little messy and did go all over the floor.
On the skin the smell doesn’t linger but if you’re not into long lingering smelly scrub then this might be a blessing. However you do get a whiff of the grapefruit smell after.
I’m so you all asking, what did my skin feel like after application? Well kids, it felt really smooth and soft. I found myself stroking my skin and being really pleased that the scrub did it work properly.
Overall I was really pleased with this and I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a natural alternative to their skin care regime.
