Have you ever looked at a dress and cannot decide whether you like it or not? Yeah, that is how I feel with these two Nicole Kidman dresses – can’t decide whether it’s a yay or nay.

If only I could be a beautiful movie star and wear couture all day long. I could be lounging on my sofa eating domino in a beautiful lilac Ellie Saab gown, kind of like that scene from Friends where the girls were drinking beers in wedding dresses. All dressed up and nowhere to go.

Sadly, I’m not an Oscar-winning movie star, I’m just a very poor blogger. So all I can do is just spend my days looking at all the real beautiful movie stars – such as Nicole Kidmen for example.

I haven’t really talked about my celebrity’s worship syndrome – yes it a real syndrome – on here. But basically, for those who know me – will know I suffer terribly with this. I love browsing celebrity’s blogs, watching E news (yes I know, but it such a guilty pleasure!) and browsing red carpet pictures on Getty.

Anyway, one particularly set of red carpet photos that caught my eyes is one from Nicole Kidmen. She’s one of my favorite actress and I just love her down to earth attitude. However, I sometime feel her fashion style leave me puzzled.

In the sense that often she can dress very elegantly and sophisticated, especially at an award show. But other time I find myself yelling at the screen – what the hell is that?

Which bring me to my overall point – here are two Nicole Kidmen dresses that she wore at a red carpet event recently, I just can’t decide whether I like them or not.

So Folks, I was wondering what is your take on these two dresses?

Dress 1

This gown is from Carolina Herrera, one of my favorite designer. Now, the problem is – I can’t decide whether I like it or not. As at first glance it looks beautiful with the full blue bodice and pink sleeves, and the embroidered (and we all know how I feel about embroidered ensemble!) flowers. But then you look closely and it just look…fussy. I can’t decide if it there too much embroidered flowers on the dress or the sleeve look completely out of place. I think from afar the dress look beautiful – it only when you look closely you’ll see there something not right. So yay or nay?

Dress 2

For this one, I don’t know who the designer is – but at first glance it looks like something you wear round Halloween. But again, I took a closer look and I kind of like it. I mean I like the lilac netting bodice lace and the free flowing sleeves and high turtle neckline. But the deal breaker is the black embroidery, it just makes the dress look like it covered in spiders and cobwebs – hence why I thought it was a Halloween dress. So yay or nay?
