Today I’m going to do a little bit of a beauty review on a product that is currently taking the beauty world by storm, or at least is the biggest selling beauty product at the moment in the UK. I’m not one to follow trends or is one of those ‘follow-the-leaders’ type girl, I just go with my own flow. These beauty products have had so much press lately, I kind of curious what all the fuss was about.
To those who wondering if I knew ‘Zoella’ was behind this and she was the one who ‘created’ this product – then my answer would be yes I know who she is. I have been watching Zoella from the very beginning and I quite frankly love her to pieces, I’m not in her target demographic (IE: I not a tween – I’m 31 years old women) or is able too relate to her in anyway; yet I still love her and her videos. My review is purely based on the products, nothing to do with Zoella herself. I’m just saying that as I don’t want hundreds of comment saying I’m attacking her – I’m not. (Been there – don’t want a repeat of it!)
This is her second beauty range and her first one I will admit I wasn’t impressed, so much so I skipped doing a review on it and threw them in the bin. They did nothing for my skin and I saw no real improvement. So I was a little hesitate trying out her new range called ‘Tutti Frutti’ but I thought I would give it a go. I didn’t buy the entire complete which included a fruity spray, a lip balm, bath foam and a pencil case; I only brought the product which I know I will use and can give you more of in-depth review. So I will be reviewing the Cleansing shower gel, Softening body lotion and the smoothing body scrub.
Foam Sweet Foam Cleansing Shower Gel
This foaming gel will help soften and soothe the skin with extracts of Acai and Blueberry, while the fresh fragrance leaves you feeling instantly energised! Simply gel-icious! Add some power to your shower with a fruity boost!
Those are the product information words – not mine! So is the shower gel-icious? I do like the smell of it and my first thought was it smelt of raspberry but no it was the Blueberry I smelt. This doesn’t foam up that well in the shower and is still runny when applied on skin, you really have to rub/scrub it into the skin for it to really foam up. The smell also doesn’t last for very long and doesn’t stick to the skin either. The good side as with all shower gel it does leave my skin feeling soft and clean. I’m not actually quite what else I can say, it neither here or there; it does it good what else can it do.
Candy Cream Softening Body Lotion
Packed with bursting beads and extracts of Acai and Blueberry to pamper and protect, because your skin needs a bit of love too! Treat yourself to this deliciously fresh, fruity cream for a soft and silky body.
From her first range she also had a body lotion and in all honestly – it was rubbish! It made my hand and body all sticky by not sinking in to the skin. So I was a little hesitate trying her new body lotion but I thought I would give it a go. The smell been described as ‘fruity’, personally I think it smell like soap with no real ‘fruity’ smell to it. When applied on skin you do get a little bursting beads but it hardly noticeable and I don’t think it make much different. So is it sticky the second time round? Not so much, it sink into the skin easily and more quickly and it made it really soft and smooth. I only ever use this when I’m have just finished at the gym and it is nice to apply on to make your skin feel soft again. This is what I was call my ‘back-up’ body lotion or an ‘after gym’ body lotion, not something I would use everyday. A much improved version.
Scrubbing Me Softly The Smoothing Body Scrub
Enriched with Acai and Blueberry, this body polish has a light, feminine fragrance to uplift and give you an instant burst of energy. With conditioning cocoa butter – lovely scrubbly! Buff your way to snuggly-soft skin with this fresh, fruity scrub.
The last scrub I tried was a salted scrub and while it was good, I was more interested in trying a sugary scrub which is what this one is. It say to apply on damp skin and then rinse off, but a really good tip is to apply it on dry skin and then rinse it off. The smell almost lemony and the texture is more smoother then a salted scrub. It left my skin feeling soft after worth and I find it good to also use the body lotion with it for added bonus and softness. Once again I’m neither here or there with it, does it job and that it.
Overall
In my personal opinion, they are just the same of other beauty lotion, cream and scrub you will see at every beauty store. The fact it got the name ‘Zoella’ slapped on is what making these products a best seller, but in reality they are just generic beauty products.
